We have launched Competitions on Look What Ive Made

We have been taken back by all the lovely feedback we have received regarding Look What Ive Made and as a sign of gratitude we are going to be launching a series of Competitions. It is very easy to enter, all you have to do is select the competition you want to enter at the bottom of the Share page.

However, this is not the fun part!

The competitions are not chosen at random, nor are they chosen by a panel of judges, they are chosen by you!

You can cast your vote on your favourite project by going to the project page and then clicking the I Vote This Project button in the sidemenu on the right hand side.

The only limitations are that you cannot vote for more than 1 project and you cannot vote on a project you have shared.

Of course you don't have to enter a project into the competition if you don't want to and can select the "No, I don't want to enter a competition" option when sharing your project.

Have fun with this very exciting new feature...!

Only voting for one item is limiting and not a true representation of what people think because items can be posted after you have cast your vote. You may actually like those better than your original choice. I think you need to allow multiple choices or voting after entry has closed. Now a question. If I have already shared a project without entering a competition, how do I, at a later date, enter that project into a new competition?

Hi Lesley, Thank you for your comment and we agree it would be better to vote on multiple projects and we will make the change ready for the next competition after The Big Sewing Giveaway one. To enter a project into a competition that has already been entered please go to the project page and in place of where usually it would show the admire, favour and repin buttons you will see an 'Edit' button in its place. Click this button and then scroll to the bottom and you will see the drop down menu for the currently open competitions. Please let me know if you need any more help.

I love the competitions, I have really enjoyed looking at all the fabulous talent that is out there. Will you be running more, I would love to see a Christmas themed one that isn't limited to the craft style, I bet the talent is endless.

Hi Sarah, Yes we plan to run them continuously so that there is always at the very least one competition open at a time. That's a great idea, we will definitely be doing a Christmas themed competition and we could also do other seasonal competitions, Easter, Halloween etc. Thank you for the suggestion :)

Was so excited to receive my package today. Just checking...is this wool or wool blend? I haven't used wool before...any advise? I would love to do a blanket or throw but not sure how to care for the item afterwards. Thank you for my gift. Love the colors too.

Hi prisilla, the yarn is actually an acrylic. It is the supersoft Aran range from Sirdar so you can use it for babies, children or adults. The recommended needle size is 5mm and it is machine washable and tumble dry able. We tried to put colours in that would work for boys, girls or adults, I hope you like them and hope we get to see what you make with them on Look What Ive Made!
