Knitting with Parkinsons

by Angela Foster

You may think these garments plain and boring but let me tell you something. I have Parkinsons, an incurable, degenerative brain disease.
everyday tasks are difficult because i have little grip in my sore, stiff hands. Sometimes the pain is unbearable.
i used to knit a lot, and even made my own socks!
recently i thought that using my hands more would help. I sew a lot and blog a lot, but i use machines and lap top!
i gave knitting a go again. Yes it hurts a lot, and yes the jumper is plain, but hey I DID IT and i am so proud!
please, any of you with a disability, dont just give up on the things you love, look for a different way of doing things and accept that it will take you longer.
i blog on sewangelicthreads.blogspot.co.uk . Join me there in my adventures with craft.
