Christening Gown

Spider web silk is like a cobweb. Every piece needs reinforcing before you can possibly put it together. The grain of fabric you need to work against. If you cut it on the grain of fabric it frays and falls away.

This is not the ideal 'Heirloom' that people would be able to hold on to. Washing it will be a problem as you would not be able to rub it or hang it up with water in it - same as a cobweb it could damage the structure.

In other words it's a beautiful garment but in reality one could only allow a baby to wear it once. I made it just for that one special occasion in a baby's life.

Beautiful it is - practical it is not. Take heed.
