Man Doll

by Joy Dehany

July
15

His body is fabric stuffed with wadding and he has a pipe cleaner skeleton. He is fully poseable and can grip things with his hands. He can also stand up by himself. He is the 5th doll I have made.
He has merino wool hair, I made his t shirt from one of my old t shirts, and he has a tattoo under his shirt sleeve. I made his glasses and eyes from air drying clay. I made the patterns up for his body and clothes and his head myself. I hand stitch sculpted his face, and drew his features on with gel pens. The eyes are inserted into the eye sockets and held in place with stitches. He has eye lashes made with false eyelashes. I used crystal glaze to help give the eyes and glasses shine. I have arthritis and it tested me at times, but I did enjoy making him.
His had is fully lined too, which I hand sewed.

Great doll, can really see the character and so well made, did your hubby like him? Fabulous.

Thank you Sammy and Gloria. Yes, he loves him! He scared my brother in law though - ha ha ha! I don't think he was expecting to see him sitting on the bookshelf when I took him over to show him off to hubby's mum.
