I started by originally planning a cartoon border collie costume.
I found a pattern for making basic overalls, using the long and short fur fabric. I created a tail for the back. I then built a foam structure for the head. When I decided to transform it into a quadsuit, I installed a helmet into the bottom of the head, so vision would appear through the neck.
I built a wooden frame for the front legs, giving them hinges, so the legs would bend. I then shaped the legs and covered with fur fabric to hide the frame. I also sewed on the collie's fur for the head. I then painted the eyes and glued them into place. I also sewed and shaped a pink tongue and sewed it into the mouth.
I cut around a doormat to make the bottom of the back feet, shaped the toes with foam and then covered with fur.
I finally finished by making a fluffy neck out of long white fur to hide my head behind and used a little netting for the vision.
